How to delete your Plume account and what happens to your data

Warning: Account deletion is permanent. All your data will be removed and cannot be recovered after the deletion period.

How to Delete Your Account

Open Plume App
Launch the Plume app on your device and make sure you're logged in to the account you want to delete.
Go to Settings
Tap on your profile icon, then tap the gear icon (⚙️) to open Settings.
Navigate to Privacy & Data
Scroll down and tap on "Privacy & Data" in the settings menu.
Request Account Deletion
Tap "Delete your account" and confirm your decision. You'll be asked to confirm that you understand this action is permanent.
30-Day Grace Period
Your account will be scheduled for deletion. During the 30-day grace period, you can cancel by logging in again.

What Gets Deleted

👤 Profile information (name, bio, photos) Deleted
📝 All posts and comments Deleted
📷 Photos and videos Deleted
❤️ Likes and reactions Deleted
👥 Followers and following lists Deleted
🔔 Notification history Deleted
📊 Anonymous usage analytics May be retained*

* Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for service improvement.

Deletion Timeline

Immediately
Your account is deactivated. You cannot log in or be found by other users.
Within 30 days
Grace period. You can cancel deletion by logging in. After this, deletion is permanent.
Within 90 days
All data is permanently removed from our systems, including backups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I recover my account after deletion?
During the 30-day grace period, yes - just log in to cancel the deletion. After that, your account and data cannot be recovered.
What happens to my posts on other people's feeds?
Your posts will be removed from all feeds. Comments you made on others' posts will show as "[deleted]".
Can I download my data before deleting?
Yes! Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Export your data. You'll receive a downloadable ZIP file with all your content.
Will my username become available again?
Yes, after the 90-day deletion period, your username will be available for others to use.
